Abstract

Background: Traditional drug discovery faces significant challenges including high costs, lengthy timelines, and poor
success rates, largely due to limited understanding of disease mechanisms, inefficient preclinical models, and
fragmented collaboration among stakeholders. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies—encompassing
machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and generative models—has rapidly transformed
pharmaceutical sciences by accelerating key phases of drug development.
