Abstract

Elastography integrated ultrasonography is being recognised as a useful complement in medical imaging modalities for conventional B-mode ultrasound and offers the possibility of quantitative and qualitative evaluation of tissue elasticity. As many tumors have different mechanical property characteristics than the surrounding normal tissue, elastography offers an additional biomechanical dimension to aid in lesion detection and characterization.
