Abstract

India is paving the way towards becoming the skill capital of the world. With one of the youngest population of the world, it is the high time to realise its demographic dividend through a workforce which is skilled and industry  ready. To make India a ‘Skilled Economy’, The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship launched the National Skill Development Mission (NSDM). NSDM provides an overall institutional framework for speedy implement and scale up skill development efforts across India. The National Skill Development Mission was launched by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 15.07.2015 on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day. NSDA is supporting actively in fulfilling the objectives of National Skill Development Mission. NSQF, NQAF, LMIS & NSRD are the specialized services provided by NSDA. But the modern dynamic, innovative and highly competitive International business environment demands more and more skilled manpower. Therefore, India must consistently concentrate on upgrading skill training efforts to meet the demand & supply of the skilled work force in India.
